No, you cannot purchase recreational cannabis in Florida right now. As of 2024, Florida has only legalized cannabis for medical use. The sale and possession of recreational cannabis remain illegal under Florida cannabis laws. Only qualified patients with a valid Medical Marijuana Use Registry identification card can legally purchase cannabis from licensed Medical Marijuana Treatment Centers (MMTCs). However, it's worth noting that there is an ongoing effort to put recreational cannabis legalization on the ballot for Florida voters in November 2024. If passed, this initiative could change the legal status of recreational cannabis in the state, but as of now, only medical use is permitted.
For inquiries about retail cannabis licensing in Florida, you should contact the Office of Medical Marijuana Use (OMMU). The OMMU, which operates under the Florida Department of Health, is responsible for overseeing the licensing process for Medical Marijuana Treatment Centers (MMTCs) in the state. Currently, Florida only allows medical cannabis sales, and MMTCs are the entities licensed to cultivate, process, and dispense medical marijuana.
To get specific information about licensing requirements, application processes, or regulatory updates, you can:

Keep in mind that Florida's licensing process is highly competitive and subject to change based on Florida cannabis laws.
